• DAVID INGENTHRON: shooting for another dimension and hitting people
  • November 16 - December 22, 2007

  • 65GRAND is pleased to present David Ingenthron in his second solo show with the gallery. Shooting for Another Dimension and Hitting People is an intriguing collection of sculptures and paintings. Ingenthron states, “In this show, the battle ground of content and intention, versus shape and abstraction was won by the familiar”. The sculpture entitled Triumph acts as a massive, contorted centerpiece within the gallery space; reminiscent of classical statues, evoking traditional figures of importance. Also on view are two paintings. Natural Love, a densely made landscape, and I Knew, I Thought are bright, minimalist compositions.

  • David Ingenthron received his MFA from the California College of Arts in San Francisco, CA in 2001. His work has been exhibited in 2006 at Roots and Culture, in Chicago, IL, Nova Art Fair in Chicago, IL and in 2007 at the Jupiter Art Fair in Portland, OR. He is the recent winner of the Illinois Arts Council Artists Fellowship Award for 2007, and in 2001 received the San Francisco MOMA nomination for SECA awards. David currently lives and works in Boston.
