• ARTIST STATEMENT

  • My current paintings and constructions are artifacts tethered to a personal mythology and history that’s entangled within a shared cultural iconography, history and folklore. The transformation from direct observation to fiction, from fact to myth extends itself to painting and it’s process, material, surface and pictorial space. I liken the painting process to a folklorist who shifts the boundaries between facts and myths, forming a dialogue that is personal and at the same time constructed.
